Brazillian boys João Miguel and Luciano Oliveira are the faces behind the moniker "The Twelves." After founding the group in 2005, the duo went on to get their big break from their remix of M.I.A.'s "Boyz" track. The song received tremendous worldwide blog and radio coverage, launching their name alongside some of the heaviest hitters.

After a stream of consistent top notch remixes and track appearances alongside names like MSTRKRFT and LCD Soundsystems, The Twelves have been a steadily growing presence in the industry. With a tendency to incorporate as many improvised features as they can into their live shows, expect to see quirky mash-ups and remixes all on the fly at Mezzanine this February 5th!

Hailing all the way from Paris, France is Simon Delacroix a.k.a. The Toxic Avenger. Making his first big name for himself in the electronic industry in 2007 with the release of Superheroes, "Toxie" has come a long way since then, shaping his sound in a way that few can match. Keeping audiences entranced with a thrashing and loud yet melodic rhythm he continues to raise the club standard. Things are only looking up for The Toxic Avenger after remixes by The Bloody Beetroots, Drop the Lime, and South Central; as well as performing with artists such as MSTRKRFT, Chromeo, and even the infamous Public Enemy.

Contrary to the name of one his latest single releases, "Toxic is Dead," Simon is busier than ever touring from Paris to Melbourne. With the recent November debut of his Angst EP, The Toxic Avenger is going to have his hands full all around the world, not just with his keyboard.

Faith Renée Evans (born June 10, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, actress and author. Born in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Evans moved to Los Angeles in 1993 for a career in music business. After working as a backing vocalist for Al B. Sure, she became the first female artist to be signed to Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment label in 1994, on which she released three platinum-certified studio albums between the years of 1995 and 2001. In 2003, she left the label to sign with Capitol Records.

Next to her recording career, Evans is widely known as the widow of New York rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace, whom she married in 1994 two months after meeting at a photoshoot. The turbulent marriage led to Evans’ involvement in the East Coast-West Coast hip hop feud, dominating the rap scene at the time, and ended with Wallace’s murder in a yet-unsolved drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in March 1997. A 1997 tribute single featuring Puff Daddy and 112, entitled “I’ll Be Missing You,” became Evans’ biggest-selling hit to date and won her a Grammy Award in 1998.

*Afghan Raiders*

The Las Vegas duo known as Afghan Raiders is composed of Mikey Francis and Vincent "Beans" Campillo. Their dark riffs, huge beats, and energetic live performances create a blend of music that bridges the gap between electronic music, house music, grunge and pop music. The Afghan Raiders broke onto the Las Vegas scene in 2008 with their debut EP Future Thinkers / Solid Gold. They release their music on their own label, Badical Beats. The Afghan Raiders' quick rise in popularity has allowed them to play significant shows such as the CMJ Music Marathon in NYC, SXSW in Austin, and the west coast club circuit. Notable events include Dim Mak's Cinespace Tuesdays, Blow Up LA, and Dance Right in Los Angeles, Blow Up SF in San Francisco, and the Filter/Ben Sherman Rock Royalty party and the Filter/SEMA party in Las Vegas. The band has performed with artists such as YACHT, Wallpaper, Classixx, No Age, Handsome Furs, and Metronomy, and have created remixes for bands including Depeche Mode, Neon Indian, The Faint, Phoenix (band), and Black Lips. Their remix of the Black Lips and GZA collaboration track, "The Drop I Hold", won Filter Magazine's Remix Contest in August 2009.

Adam ‘A.Skillz’ is one of the country’s most funky beatmeisters. His fierce production skills and turntable dexterity has seen him explode onto the scene, collaborating with hip-hop legends and making music for worldwide brands.

February 2004 saw A.Skillz and Krafty Kuts team up on the TrickaTechnology Tour with live MC’s from the album playing shows all over the UK. The duo then went on to DJ together leaving audiences and dance floors astounded with their skills on four decks and four CDJ’s, playing at Glastonbury Festival, Pacha (Ibiza) and a live session for Steve Lamaq on BBC Radio 1.

Mash up your New Year! For one night only, Bootie moves to Mezzanine to celebrate New Years Eve, mashup-style!

At 11 PM, Smash-Up Derby, Bootie's award-winning house band, takes the stage to say goodbye to 2010 with a special "Greatest Hits" set. Resident DJs Adrian & Mysterious D play out 2010, mashing up the biggest hits from the past year. The band returns at midnight to help ring in 2011 with a pirate balloon drop, champagne toast, video countdown -- and a mashed-up version of "Auld Lang Syne" live!

In the upstairs room, Brass Tax takes over, as DJs Ding Dong, JoeJoe, and Mace spin a dirty combination of breaks, electro, d'n'b, and hip-hop to keep you dancing with balls-to-the-wall bass and beats. Surprise performances will grace the Mezzanine stage throughout the night, including -- direct from Paris -- infamous French rapper Grandpamini, random bizarreness from John!John!, and of course, it wouldn't be 2011 without an appearance from Baby Gaga!

There will be FREE "Best of Bootie 2010" CDs for the first 500 people through the door, and Calibree Photography will on hand with a Photo Booth to capture all your New Years Eve fabulousness!

Nostalgia Overload -- in a good way!

What happens when you put nostalgia and a (huge) squirt of lime in a cocktail shaker? This past weekend at Mezzanine! Seriously! It was a weekend of past memories and good times as the weekend came to an end in the wee hours of Sunday morning. It all started off on Thursday evening... Temper Trap, Sleigh Bells, and The Limousines graced our stage for the pre-party to Not So Silent Night's main event in San Jose. Here's a review of the night if you missed out! Friday night soon followed with a performance of "Unknown Pleasures" from Joy Division/New Order's, Peter Hook. The anticipation was so heavy leading up to the sold out event, we could barely contain ourselves! Check out a review of the night from Spinning Platters! Saturday night was the 7th Stevie Wonder tribute event, "Wonderfull" featuring DJ Spinna putting a twist on Stevie Wonder classics. Devin the Dude is a Houston-area rapper. Though relatively well-known among the underground hip-hop community during the mid-to-late 90’s, Devin did not achieve mainstream success until his appearance on Dr. Dre’s 2001 album. Besides sex, relationships, ridin’ trucks, smokin’ reefer, drinkin’ beer, partying, and conscious or proverbial themes, much of Devin’s work is also light-hearted and comically self-deprecating. The New York Times has called him “A brilliant oddball with a spaced-out flow."

Back in 1999, DJ Spinna and Bobbito were asked to spin at a party which paid tribute to the great Stevie Wonder. The duo quickly realized they had a mutual love for Little Stevie's music and, judging from the atmosphere on the dance floor that night, they knew they had a good thing going. A classic East Coast party was born. Wonder-full falls on the weekend of Stevie's May 13 birthday and features handpicked rare and funky covers from Spinna's and Bobbito's vaults. Today, KeiStar Productions spearheads sole production of the now incontestable and world renown WONDER-Full event. And lucky for us, the time has arrived once again for our West Coast ears to hear some songs in the key of life.
