it's tricky
Tricky performed a magical, brooding set on Thursday night, after which he proceeded to wander through the crowd, hugging his fans and thanking them for their existence.
No - thank YOU, Tricky.

Be Your Own Rachel Zoe
As stylists have emerged from the shadows of the fashion industry to take center stage, more and more of us have thought to ourselves, I could do that... Now you can put your money where your mouth is and be judged by a community of your peers and industry professionals alike on Chictopia.
Putting together a savagely stylish outfit to go see Busy P and Bootsy in at Mezzanine tonight? Put it on Chictopia. Want to see how others with your same look or body type are pulling off this season's trends? Search it on Chictopia. Want to get in on sweet deals and unique industry opportunities? Chictopians have been used as American Apparel models, won coveted Fashion Week access and internships, and can now win web exposure and cash money (let's face it, gift cards to Target are as good as the green stuff) through Chictopia's new partnership with Refinery29.
So, next time you're watching Rachel Zoe or Patricia Field on E!News and thinking, I could do that... Prove it. Send your links to me (bonus points for shots taken at Mezzanine shows!), and I'll follow up here with a MezzRx compilation of style.

MARCH 20th SOMEONE WILL DIE
Likely one of the loudest, craziest shows to go down in SF will happen at Mezzanine on March 20. In the course of only 3 years, Pedro Winter aka BUSY P, has gone from the obscurity of being record hustler beotch for Daft Punk... to building his own record label ED BANGER RECORDS, and if your not familiar with that, does Uffie, DJ Mehdi or Justice (whom he also manages) ring a bell?. It better ho. By far one of the most bangingest bangalter nights at Mezzanine.. BTW I myself will be opening with some dickhead friends of mine... don't be offended when I spray you with my draaaank...

Retro-futurism Reigns at Wondercon 2009
While you were recovering from Noise Pop, nerds the world over gathered at Moscone for the annual mecca of comic and fantasy action: Wondercon.
I snagged a seat at the Watchmen panel, where they showed the first 22 minutes of the forthcoming film and hosted a panel discussion with director Zack Snyder and the actors.
Judging by the popularity of the classic graphic novel, and the recent collections of Balenciaga and Gareth Pugh, I think we can count on more super hero inspired retro-futurist looks coming down the runways for at least another season.
