Junkie XL

With his fifth studio album, "Booming Back at You", having just dropped Junkie XL is on the road touring the United States. The Dutch born musician will be making stops at two of the biggest music festivals of the year, Coachella and SXSW(South by Southwest), as well as a stop here at the Mezzanine! If you can't make it out to one of these festivals this is a great opportunity to catch Junkie XL. Performing with him is Tommie Sunshine, who has worked with a variety of artists including Ladytron, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeah's, and Good Charlotte to name just a few. Already Scheduled to play in san francisco are GoldFrapp at the Warfield, The Verve at the Warfield, Death Cab for Cutie at the Fillmore, Hot Chip at the Fillmore, Simian Mobile Disco Cut Copy and Black Kids (first bay area performance) at the Mezzanine, Midnight Juggarnaughts headline the Mezzanine the same week as well as a handful of other performances.

Fully Flared: A Skateboard Film Co Directed by Spike Jonze

The buzz and anticipation for this film dates back to 2 years. The release which pushed back because important folks like new skateboard crews and important production team additions which made the making of this film about 2 years.

The opriginal ideas changed because some concepts were too dangerous. Mezzanine will host a early screening before the film is brought on dvd for a future release.

Private Events Are Fun

Q -tip let a Ey Baby on stage during the Private Mezzanine Event held for Sony Electronics Last Week. The Tribe Called Quest Leader looked a little disturbed when the words were projected from the fan MC. Although nothing was exchanged, they went on with the song and treated the audience to what looked like american gangster idols audition. The fan busted all the right moves which had the crowd and Q-tip Going.

Junior Boys

The Canadian duo, Junior Boys (Jeremy Greenspan & Matt Didemus), will be playing with Lo-Fi-FNK, and San Serac, and DJ set by Sorcerer this Saturday. They are currently on tour promoting their latest album So This is Goodbye, which was released in 2006. There will also be a Lotus Vodka tasting along with drink specials afterwards. Doors open at 9:00 p.m.

The Virgins

The Virgins hail out of New York city and have the sound to match. Influenced by New York's eclectic scene The Virgins are influenced by everything from Kiss to RUN DMC. Also playing are Airborne Toxic Event, The Blake's, Man/Miracle, and a DJ set by Aaron Axelsen from Live 105.3.
